Ryan Cohan QuartetPhoto Credit Ryan Bennett We’re pleased to present Chicago-based PIANIST RYAN COHAN for the first time as he makes his Jazz Series debut leading a fellow Windy City crew that includes SAXOPHONIST JOHN WOJCIECHOWSKI, BASSIST LOREN COHEN and DRUMMER GEORGE FLUDAS. While not as well-known as he should be, we’re not talking about someone who just arrived on the scene. Performing globally and throughout the United States, Cohan has worked with such jazz luminaries as Freddie Hubbard, Joe Locke, Andy Norrell, Jon Faddis, Paquito D’Rivera, Kurt Elling, Gregory Porter, Victor Lewis, Bob Cranshaw, Jeff Hamilton and Steve Wilson as well as those who work in his hometown such as Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Orbert Davis’ Chicago Jazz Philharmonic and Chicago Jazz Ensemble. Speaking of “locals.” Cohan has collaborated extensively with Ramsey Lewis, contributing more than 20 compositions and arrangements to the NEA Jazz Master’s repertoire. |
